When it comes to vegetarian dining and coziness in general, there are many options in a town like Aarhus. Also places like Aarhus Street Food is popular, which I’ve mentioned in an earlier post. Aarhus Street Food is not really my cup of tea, but then there is Aarhus Central Food Market, that is much nicer place with better and tastier options!
Aarhus Central Food Market is located at Sankt Knuds Torv in Aarhus, only 150 m away from Aarhus Central Station. Compared to Aarhus Street Food, ACFM looks a bit smaller, but it is a very cozy place to get some lovely food. There are several food stalls to be find, that offer different culinary food from different countries, and of course danish specialities are to be find too.
Café Sidewalk, at Åboulevarden 56-58 in Aarhus, is one of those cozy places in Aarhus, when just need some space for relaxation and enjoying the café culture of Aarhus. I tell you, they have the best vegetarian burger, I’ve tasted so far! I’ve also heard their brunch is really good 😉
One of my favorite Italian restaurants in Aarhus is Restaurant Grappa. Grappa is a very Italian restaurant with charming Italian food, located at the Aarhus stream in the city – Åboulevarden 60. The food is the modern versions of traditional Italian food. It is not a typical Italian restaurant, but still super charming and with amazing food.
Aarhus Street Food, located at Ny Banegårdsgade 46, near the bus station in Aarhus, is actually a garage made into a place with several stalls selling street food from around the world. You find stalls with Danish rye bread menus, afro-carribean food, Vietnamese food, French crepes and much more. I’ve seen several vegetarian/vegan bloggers been praising this place, but I’m not very much surprised with the vegetarian/vegan selection, as there’re mostly French fries, salads and stuff like that, and a few stall offering 1 or 2 vegetarian/vegan items, which is not really good (in taste). I try to be very frank – therefore writing down this. If you are very hungry and need a cozy place, where you can sit down and eat/enjoy your food, then don’t go for the Street Food. Aarhus Street Food is a mess of a place, not cozy at all and the food is not that good compared to the price!!
I recently went to Aalborg to visit one of my friends, who lives there. Aalborg is my favourite city in Denmark – along with Aarhus, but Aalborg is more charming 😉
We had lunch at my friend’s home and went for a walk downtown Aalborg, where we got our dinner. As The Burger Shack recently was announced to have the “Denmark’s best burger”, we therefore though of trying their vegetarian burger – 3 vegetarian friends.. Unfortunately, none of us were really surprised. The vegetarian burger here is only average. I was very hungry, but couldn’t eat my burger, because it was not that good. The patty tasted bitter, and there was not so much greens. Thinking that The Burger Shack has the best burgers, we expected more. But it seems like only their non-veg burgers are good :-/
There are much better vegetarian burgers to be find! 😉
