Simple Chia Pudding

My attempt for a healthier lifestyle has now included breakfasts too. Since 2014 I actually didn’t eat breakfast everyday, as I used to have a kind of “fasting” to keep myself away from eating too much of calories. I have had several ways of controlling myself from eating too much calories, which included an “8-hour” diet for 3 months, and afterwards a 4-months “no sugar”-period, and later a “5 day morning-fasting” period for a year. I felt this actually helped me a lot, and I didn’t gain weight. Beside these kind of diets I also went to fitness, but unfortunately I haven’t trained the past few months due to mental and physical health issues. BUT since the beginning of 2016 I decided to go another way: eat normal instead of controlling myself from not eating on specific times or specific items 😉

So why did I chose not to continue my diets?

I have 2 major reasons for this:

  1. I am a vegetarian (almost vegan). This means I don’t actually eat meat or fish, so almost everything I eat is actually “clean products” – I believe that clean-eating means no animal; my body is not any graveyard! 😉
  2. I don’t drink any kind of alcohol – so no unhealthy calories from here.

All in all I actually don’t have an unhealthy lifestyle, and my sugar intake is low-normal (I think it’s okay to get some sugar here and there when I don’t get any of those 2 things mentioned above). So why should I control myself like a psycho? 😛

As I’ve chosen to eat breakfast again, I’ve also started on experimenting with these breakfast items many of us eat. Let it be oats, bread, chia seeds or anything else. Why not make it funnier? 😉

Recently I tried out making chia pudding with cocoa. This was a great success, and even my parents loved it. So therefore I’ve decided to share the recipe with you guys 🙂

Servings: 4

Prep time: 5 mins


  • 3 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 5 dates (Medjool if you have)
  • ¾ cup of milk (rice, almond, soy or dairy, anything can be used) – If you want a thicker pudding add a ½ cup instead
  • Vanilla from  2 vanilla pods
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder (if you like, you can add 2 tbsp.)


Place all ingredients in a high speed blender, and blend until the pudding is perfectly thickened and smooth. Serve with toppings of free choice. Here, I added some banana on the tops, and I love it 😉
